I am a Sydney artist experimenting across disciplines, sometimes combining materials and media in collaborative installations. I grew up n the Sydney bush and feel very connected to this landscape. My background is in architecture and I have taught art to children. In my art I concern myself with beauty, inner spirit and the natural world. My work invariably touches on connections: family and relationships, connections to each other and place. Drawing is fundamental to my practice: it is the means and the ends. The line informs and drives the creative process. I explore underlying rhythms and patterns of landscape, and its power in shaping identity. Trees, especially those of the Australian bush, are an endless inspiration.'Rooted securely in the earth, trees reach toward the heavens' says David Suzuki. Such profoundly satisfying analogy of the human experience is worthy of exploration.
